The Butterfly Assassin
Photoshop
October 2008

The third in the Insect Dynasty Series, The Butterfly Assassin is actually based on the Giant Atlas moth. This moth is so lavishly decorated however that I thought The title Butterfly Assassin might cause less confusion. The frilly tendrils are actually only found on the males, but I wasn't about to let a design feature like that go to waste!

This was created in Photoshop CS3, taking somewhere around 20 hours, simply because there were so many different material types to render. A first for me and certainly a lot of fun to do.
