Based loosely around the goddess Sedna who was said to have birthed all the arctic marine sea mammals. This was an impromptu painting for me; I was looking through my image archive when I saw a face staring back at me from one of the image thumbnails. The photo was actually that of a tiger diving into water. I decided to keep the tiger like face for Sedna to represent the more ferocious qualities of her character. This also gave me the opportunity to further play around with pattern work.
